How does Michael escape?
Resolve every NPC resident, then leave on foot. In multiplayer, Michael's escape becomes available once all the NPC residents have been killed or escaped. Follow the escape marker down the marked road. His car cannot drive through the map boundary.
You do not have to kill every human civilian player to get that option. If a team keeps trying to fight you after the NPCs are gone, look for your exit instead of assuming you must stay until the timer ends.
Michael's car: useful in town, not an exit
15 Tips For MYERS In Halloween The Game!
MintSkull
- 1. Check NPC residents. Every regular and priority NPC must be dead or escaped.
- 2. Find the exit marker. Follow it when Michael's escape becomes available.
- 3. Walk out. Get out of the car and use the marked road on foot.
Before you try to leave
- Check both kinds of NPC. Priority targets and regular residents are separate from the human-controlled civilians. A resident who is still hiding or being escorted is not resolved yet. Hunting players does not remove that remaining NPC.
- Wait for Michael's own escape marker. A civilian opening a cellar or repairing a sedan is a different escape system. Those routes do not replace your marked road.
- Get out of your vehicle. Driving straight into an invisible wall is not proof that the exit is broken. Follow the marked route on foot when the prompt is available.
For reaching the last NPC without getting dragged into a fight, use the light, hiding-spot and Reality Tear advice in Michael tips. To understand where civilians are taking residents, compare the civilian exits and their requirements.
No exit showing? Check the situation
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| An NPC is still in the match | Keep looking for the remaining regular or priority resident. An open civilian exit alone does not make your escape available. |
| All NPCs are gone, but players remain | Look for Michael's escape prompt and marker. You can leave while human civilians are still alive. |
| The car stops at the edge | Get out. Michael's car moves around the map; it cannot complete the escape for him. |
| Michael has disconnected and the clock keeps running | That is a different problem for the civilians still watching. See the match that won't end for the XP and quitting caveat. |
Leaving, winning and the story prologue
The exit being available is not a guaranteed victory. Residents who escaped still contribute to the civilian side's result. Leaving also does not undo the NPCs you lost while chasing players. The civilian objective guide explains why rescuing the town matters more than simply surviving.
Escaping Smith's Grove in the story mode is a separate task with chapter objectives and challenges. For that sequence, start with the prologue challenge guide, rather than this multiplayer checklist.
