Eric Dunn
The lowest athleticism on the open roster, paired with the joint-highest resourcefulness.
Read on the numbers: High resourcefulness, low athleticism — a fixer who is slow on his feet.
About
Eric Dunn is the first civilian on the select screen and the clearest example of a lopsided stat spread. Eight resourcefulness ties him with Rachel Callahan for the highest on the open roster, while three athleticism is the lowest number any unlocked civilian carries. That is not a weak character so much as a specific one: he is built to solve objectives, not to survive a chase.
He works at Nichols Hardware and spends his free time hunting on ATVs out in the woods — the sort of small-town detail the game uses to tie civilians to Haddonfield's map landmarks. Nichols Hardware is one of the 1978 film locations the developers named as a starting point when building the town.
His three traits — Hunter's Sense, Fast Fingers and Brimstone Fuse — read as a set aimed at finding things and using them quickly rather than at outrunning anything.
Every civilian carries three signature traits, shown on the character-select screen next to their stats. They are separate from the perk deck, which is built from cards unlocked in the graveyard and is not tied to the character.
| Trait | What is known |
|---|---|
| Hunter's Sense | One of Eric's three signature traits, shown on the character-select screen. |
| Fast Fingers | One of Eric's three signature traits, shown on the character-select screen. |
| Brimstone Fuse | One of Eric's three signature traits, shown on the character-select screen. |
How to play Eric Dunn
Treat three athleticism as a hard constraint rather than a rounding error. Eric is the civilian least able to convert a bad position into a chase you survive, so the value of his eight resourcefulness only lands if you are somewhere Michael is not. Play objectives on the far side of the map from the current pressure and hand the loud work to a higher-athleticism teammate.
Because the perk deck is built from cards unlocked in the graveyard rather than tied to the character, Eric's identity at launch is his stat spread plus those three traits. Anything you read describing his deck is describing someone's unlock state, not the character.
Across the 7 civilians whose stats are visible, Eric Dunn’s four values total 23. Totals are not a power ranking — the game gives no indication that the four stats are weighted equally, and a maxed column is worth more than a spread if the thing it feeds is what your group is losing to. The Loadout Lab sorts every civilian by any single column so you can check that yourself.
