Fixing stutter and low frame rates

Check the requirements before anything else

Two lines in the store listing are stricter than people expect and are the first thing worth verifying. The OS floor is Windows 11 64-bit on both the minimum and recommended tiers — Windows 10 is not listed at either level. And an SSD or NVMe drive is listed as required rather than recommended, on both tiers.

That second one matters for stutter specifically. A game that names its storage type as a requirement rather than a suggestion is usually streaming assets during play, and running it from a mechanical drive produces exactly the intermittent hitching people describe.

The minimum GPU line is quoted for 1080p at 30fps, not 60. If you are matching the minimum spec and expecting 60fps, the listing does not promise that.

What the reviews describe

Of 198 launch-window Steam reviews, 59 mention frame rate, stutter, optimisation or crashes, and 25 of those are in negative reviews. That is the largest single theme in the sample — larger than balance, larger than the comparisons to other games in the genre.

The developers shipped a hotfix one day into Advance Access, three days before the full release. Impressions written before that landed were written against a different build, which is worth remembering when reading launch-day coverage.

What this guide will not do

There is no settings table here. The game's graphics options have not been documented in any official post, and a list of recommended values invented from a few matches would be the kind of confident-looking content that is wrong in a way you cannot check.

When the developers publish performance guidance, or when enough players converge on a specific setting, this section gets the numbers. Until then the honest advice is the boring kind: confirm you are on Windows 11, confirm the game is on an SSD, and check whether a newer hotfix has landed since you last played.
